Challenge. I was approached to develop the design for No Shame and The HoC's Austin 2014 showcase posters. They required a poster that would work well across web platforms and as a physical print. The design would need to be eye catching, to compete with the many other SXSW posters out there.
Strategy and end result. I decided to create a high-contrasted, bright poster that would represent Texas accurately. I noticed a lot of the current SXSW posters were hand-rendered with subtle colors–so this was a style I wanted to avoid. I developed an idea of having a bull with a Texas flag on his hide, with his shadow revealing the title of the No Shame and The HoC showcase title. The typography was kept clean and legible, to allow the design to stand out. The end result was a striking, vectorized poster that worked well as a screenprinted poster and for web (social media posts and web banners)
