Challenge. New Zealand’s largest independent conservation organisation wanted nature back on the political agenda in 2014. The future is more than jobs and economic resilience was the message, nature is part of it. I was asked to create a branding campaign to educate New Zealander's on the importance of voting green in the 2014 elections.
Strategy and end result. When you think of elections, there's usually big, bold colours and clean typography associated with each party. Utilising that 'rule', I created a bold, bright yet positive brand that represented New Zealand nature. I developed an overall style that was modern and down-to-earth that would portray Forest and Bird’s campaign accurately. For the logo I created flora of iconic New Zealand native plants to create a wispy, delicate pattern. I used bold and legible typography that would carry across different platforms well. The two main colours are the Forest and Bird brand colours.
