Briefing to Ministers Report – Forest and Bird

Client.  Forest and Bird
Type of work. Client, pro bono

Challenge.
I was asked to design a 52 page, A4 sized booklet report for Forest and Bird. This report was given to incoming New Zealand Ministers into parliament, to highlight pressing environmental issues in New Zealand.

Strategy and end result.
The key outcome for this report was to impact the incoming Ministers decisions and outcome in their time in parliament, by outlining the hard facts about environmental issues in New Zealand.
Therefore, I wanted to ensure the design was appealing and encouraging. I created an overall style that allowed for striking section titles allowing the imagery to really shine, featured key icons to group sections, and an easy to follow layout. Due to the limitation of breathing space for the body copy, I created pull quotes to emphasise the importance of each section, as well as break up the text. The end result was a simplistic, legible and sleek report that utilised Forest and Bird's colour palette and allowed for their stunning images to really stand out.
